On April 18, 2016, a number of technical staff in the company of the Executive Coordinator of ASTAL, Dr. Kenneth Uchua made a Technical Visit to Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, where they met with Principal officers of the University and mapped out areas of possible collaboration, both in research and application of Satellite Remote Sensing in solving environmental issues

The official Inauguration of Women in Aerospace at the Advanced Space Technology Applications Laboratory took place on Thursday, 12th September 2019. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the wife of the Vice-Chancellor, who is also the President of University of Uyo Women Association, Mrs. Rosalyn Essien.
