ASTAL Geodigital Consultancy Services is the consultancy arm of the Advanced Space Technology Applications Laboratory (ASTAL), Uyo. The Consult offers geo-information services, through seasoned professionals with several years of experience, to various government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Corporate Organizations and individuals, for sustainable development. The main technologies being promoted by ASTAL Geodigital Consultancy Services include: Geographic Information System (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), Global Positioning System (GPS), Engineering, and Information Technologies. The Consult supports research and human capacity development by promoting space education programmes, providing high resolution satellite imageries and applying satellite remote sensing techniques based on the demand and expectations of clients, in an economic way.

Mandates
- Provision of scientific training and integrated capacity building under the Know-How-Technology-Transfer (KHTT) scheme for the benefit of diverse clients such as resource planners/managers, researchers, educators, students, decision makers and the general public
- Provision of multi-faceted satellite and collateral data as well as sale of products developed by ASTAL
- Organizing training workshops, seminars and conferences with a view to developing local content, promoting Nigeria’s space programme, and inculcating the active interest of Nigerians in space technology, for the common good of all and sustainable national development
- Installation, maintenance and repairs of hardware facilities
- ICT training, equipment hire, internet networking, software development, website designing and computer programming
- Handling and/or partnering on research projects involving conceptualization, planning and implementation of such projects
- Carry out any other result-oriented ventures targeted at revenue generation for ASTAL

In order to enable our prospective clients enjoy high quality products and services, our laboratory is equipped with modest, state-of-the-art and sophisticated remote sensing and GIS facilities such as:

- A0 size colour scanner
- Multi-media projectors and screens
- Computer systems for training and internet services, amongst others
- Relevant GIS software packages like ArcGIS, ILWIS, Erdas Imagine, Arcview
