IMPERATIVE OF COLLABORATION AND LINKAGES
Collaboration between researchers across space is clearly increasing, as well as being increasingly sought after. Collaboration and Linkages will help each collaborating institution, agency and industry to fulfill its own mission. Few institutions, agencies and industries have the resources (such as finances, technology/knowledge, and people) available to address the sometimes overwhelming number of challenges that impedes the realization of goals and objectives. Institutional collaboration is critical for skills development (education and training), the generation, acquisition, and adoption of knowledge (innovation and technology transfer), and the promotion of entrepreneurship (start-ups and spin-offs)
OTHER COLLABORATION ACTIVITIES
As part of knowledge or technology transfer, the department takes time out to visit secondary schools in Akwa Ibom state and thereby exposing the students to space science and technology through the establishment of Space club.
The Department has successfully signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between ASTAL, Uyo and Abia State University, Uturu. Many proposals for Research Collaborations and other collaborations between ASTAL and Universities within Niger Delta and other Institutions have reached various degree of completion. The department (C&L) exists to steer ASTAL to be a leading research, innovation and community service through strategic partnerships and collaborative engagement with local and global partners
